Dèfê-êdê Bî (/ˈdèfɘ/ /ˈɘdɘ/ [solid; sturdy] [girl]) is a temperate Town located in Beachmaple Dutchy, G̈îmëqe Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Dèfê-êdê Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Dèfê-êdê Bî was founded by Glêbêm Tresêv, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Dèfê-êdê Bî has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Overview

Dèfê-êdê Bî was founded durring the early 13th century in summer of the year 1240, by Glêbêm Tresêv. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Dèfê-êdê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Dèfê-êdê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Dèfê-êdê Bî is buildings are speckled and packed arround crampt cobblestone streets with seemingly no patern to them. It appears as if the town's residents simply built streets as they pleased and squeazed buildings in wherever and howeave rpossible, creating an organic, frustrating to navigate, maze of a town. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks, spikes, and fences to provide some protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Dèfê-êdê Bî's minimaly adiquite are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Dèfê-êdê Bî makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet town filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.

Cultural Notes

Dèfê-êdê Bî's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by dynamic designs and complex architectural plan forms; intended to heighten feelings of motion and sensuality, and frequently based on the oval. It made extensive and extreme use of: Grandeur, Contrast, Curves and twists, Rich surface treatments, Gilded statuary, Bright colors, Vividly painted ceilings, Fragmented or deliberately incomplete elements, Large-scale frescoes, Dramatic central projections on an external facade, the use of plaster, stucco, or marble finishing, Illusory effects such as trompe l’oeil, and pear-shaped domes. While beloved by the nobility, the common folk tended to despise the style due to the massive consumption of resources required for even a small building constructed in this style.

In Dèfê-êdê Bî during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Dèfê-êdê Bî was attacked by savage trollss living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Dèfê-êdê Bî lost 186 people, 187 livestock, and 41 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 82, when members of Dèfê-êdê Bî's militia enacted an operation to delay the operations of the enemy. The operation was complicated by major logistical problems. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the fortification, which ended in a stalemate for Dèfê-êdê Bî's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Dèfê-êdê Bî's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
